Privacy Policy
This policy describes how Tappan Zee Web LLC ("we," "us") handles information when you visit tappanzeeweb.com, contact us, or become a client. We keep it short because we collect very little.
1. What we collect
- Contact form & inquiries. When you use our contact form, call, or email us, we receive what you send: typically your name, email address, phone number, town, and details about your business and project.
- Billing information. If you become a client, payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe — we never see or store full card numbers. We see the billing information Stripe shows us, such as your name, email, and payment status.
- Technical logs. Our website is served by a hosting provider (Google Firebase Hosting), which may log standard technical data such as IP addresses and requested pages as part of operating the service. We do not run our own analytics or advertising trackers on this site, and the site does not set its own cookies.
2. How we use it
- To respond to inquiries and provide a quote;
- To provide the services you've signed up for — building and managing your website and domain;
- To set up the third-party services your website needs — for example registering your domain and creating your hosting project. Where practical these accounts are created in your name, using the business information you give us (name, business name, email, phone, address);
- To bill for the service and keep required business and tax records; and
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. Third-party services we rely on
These providers process information as part of running our website and business, each under its own privacy policy:
- FormSubmit — delivers contact-form submissions to our email;
- Stripe — payment processing, invoicing, and the client billing portal (Stripe may set cookies on its own pages, for example for security and fraud prevention);
- Google — Firebase Hosting (serves this website), Google Fonts (typefaces), and Google Workspace (our business email);
- For clients: the established third-party providers we set your website services up on — hosting and domain registration — each under its own privacy policy.
When we open an account in your name, the information you give us is shared with that provider to create the account, and your relationship with that provider is governed by its privacy policy — which may differ from ours. Before we add any new paid third-party service to your website (for example, a reservation or ordering platform), we tell you which provider it is and its cost, and it is added only with your approval; that provider's own privacy policy will apply to information it processes.
4. Client websites we build & manage
We build and manage websites for client businesses. Information submitted through a client's website — for example, a reservation request or a contact form on a restaurant's site — belongs to and is directed to that business. We process it only as needed to deliver it and keep the site running, and we do not use it for our own purposes. Those websites are operated by the businesses themselves under their own privacy practices; questions about information you submitted to a client's website should go to that business.
5. Sharing
We share information only with the service providers listed above as needed to operate, when required by law, or with your direction. That's it.
6. Retention & your choices
We keep inquiry and client records as long as needed for the purposes above and for legal, accounting, and tax requirements. You can ask us at any time what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (we may need to keep what the law requires, such as billing records). 7. Children
Our website and services are for businesses and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date.
